Imagine if other preisdents were bold enough to declare the truth in the style f President Trump: "We're going to create a police state over the US populace, and the US populace is going to pay for it!"

Once one understands that government exists only to preserve government, everything becomes a lot clearer. Listen to the key words: when a government official says "we". that means the government, not the populace. The war has been waging for some time now - the sad part is that most people don't even know that they're the enemy, even now when the government has openly declared that the focus of its efforts is now targetting the "electorate". "Continuity of government" is the number one priority, and most government officials will readily admit it. The people are too stupid to realise that means that the public is simply a means to that end.
