It is amazing to witness the change in America since the early 60's. The last time a Kennedy was being opposed by a racist warmonger, the country overwhelmingly chose Kennedy. Now, the Democrats are furious with Kennedy for opposing another racist warmonger - these people would clearly have voted for Goldwater over JFK in 1964. There is no "left" (in the sense of anti-authoritarian) in America anymore - there are only shades of authoritarian to totalitarian.
