Thanks for the feedback and the resteem! I'm glad the idea makes sense to you. I've been bouncing it around in my head for a while. In fact if steem founders had allotted a portion of their original allocation

I haven't spent much time playing with it, but there are people who do, and I have often thought that it would be a good fit here: Algodoo - -

Thanks for the reply! On number 8, I'm not referring to bad publicity. Basically, I just mean that people should get credited for their work and ideas. For an example of what I mean, you can look at the

Thanks for the reply! There was definitely a positive mood about the linear curve around the time of HF19, so you might be right that it encouraged people to power up in the early-middle part of 2017.

I was there for the whale experiment. It ran from March 2017 to HF19, which was in June/2017. Well before most of the price run-up. Also, as I recall, the whole point of that experiment was to simulate

RE: Does the 13 week powerdown period prevent investing in STEEM?
Actually, it can't be configured in SMTs.. Oh, I assumed that was included in the configurable parameters. I think there's a strong argument to be made for making that configurable in future updates.

RE: Does the 13 week powerdown period prevent investing in STEEM?
I agree that there should be empirical evidence before implementing a change like this. Also, it's configurable in steem-engine tokens and (soon) in SMTs, which means different solutions can be tried and

RE: Can a Community be Successful Without Leadership? - A Look At "The Tyranny of Structurelessness"
I have thought, since 2016, that groups on Steem will eventually need to learn to self-organize with "social technologies" like holacracy or sociocracy. I wrote a couple articles on the concepts:
