My name is Hồng Phúc ("Luck from the king") but you can call me Hong. I was born in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. A week before my 8th birthday, I moved to Nottingham, England. I lived there for three years before moving to California, US. Now, I live in Oslo, Norway with my husband.
All my travels have opened me up to different foods from all over the world.
One of my greatest interests is philosophy, particularly epistemology (the theory of knowledge) and aesthetics (the study of art).
Beauty is a sense of harmony. Whether it’s an image, a human face, a body, or a sunset, take the object which you call beautiful, as a unit [and ask yourself]: what parts is it made up of, what are its constituent elements, and are they all harmonious? If they are, the result is beautiful. If there are contradictions and clashes, the result is marred or positively ugly.
I love musicals. My favourites are Singin' in the Rain and Anastasia.
Fashion has always been a great interest of mine. I like my clothes to be classic and elegant with a little edge. My favourite designer is Oscar de la Renta. I am greatly inspired by the styles of the actress Blake Lively and the character Blair Waldorf from Gossip Girl. I write about my take on these and other things on my website, Reason For Beauty.
