🦉 The western yellow wagtail (Motacilla flava)

• Motacilla lat .: mōto, mōtare move continuously, -cilla tail (cilla like a tail - only in ornithology, erroneous established name)
• flava flavus (lat.) yellow, gold, golden yellow

These wild relatives of the familiar urban white wagtail live in the wild in open spaces such as meadows and fields. They arrive almost a month later than the white wagtail, somewhere at the beginning of May.
And it is the beginning of May that is the most favorable time to photograph and admire them, because at this time there is still no dense vegetation or overgrowth.

The females look a little pale compared to the males, the third photo is of a female, the rest are of males. The birds are surprisingly not very shy, but are more cautious, unlike the same white wagtail.
