This post serves to mark the conclusion of the q-filter experiment and to give a heads up that the voting bot and vote lottery are now down. I appreciate everyone who has contributed to the project through voting and creating. At this time, I am really busy with my new job and other things going on in my life and can no longer give the time that this project deserves.
I found that a lot of manual curation was required to get the results that I wanted and that q-filter still suffered from potential apathetic user issues. The project also came at a cost to myself giving up SBD in order to maintain incentives required to make the system work.
I still hope to continue designing and testing interesting ideas on the Steem blockchain, but for now I am taking a break from active development. The future lies in connecting creators to people who enjoy consuming that content and building meaningful communities around those connections. Q-filter fell short of that goal and most projects on the blockchain don't even attempt to address this issue. But hopefully there will be some progress in this area in the future.
