Ah thanks for the information. The kit you have is a nice compact size. Having a second mounted tom might be useful for variety in fills and wouldn't take up extra floor space and a cowbell is quite useful

That looks like a fun app and could be quite useful for anyone who has to plan a kit that fits in to a specific space. I don't know who Terry Bozio is but frankly he just has too many drums and cymbals.

It's a really good little kit Steve. Ideal for the folk band sound. I thought you played very sensitively and the balance was good. The high hat in particular sounds great because it's got all those lovely

Jazz is blooming hard on the drums. There's a lot of cymbal work and swooshing the brushes around on the snare...bit like rubbing your belly and patting your head.

I've played a full kit against a piano accompaniment..the piano wasn't amplified...so yeah it can be done, but you have to be able to play with a very light touch and brushes are very useful for that.

There's a kind of hybrid stick you can get which is quieter isn't there? I've never used them myself but they look a bit like a bunch of straight twigs tied together.

I reckon you'll love them. They are so much more responsive than any electric kit. It's now 9 years since I played on a real kit. I really miss the power of them. I hope you do get to play yours at full
