Interesting viewpoint! My observation and experience is that negative motivations move us more than positive ones because they usually last longer, especially the memory of it. You're right about that.

I did this last year for the purpose of losing weight. I avoided sugar and anything that produces sugar like rice and bread for two weeks, then continued it for two months.
