My past week of running (and other stuff)

I didn't create a detailed post for quite a while now.

So here is an update to whats currently going on and what I have been up to the last week. My last detailed post was 13 days ago on Saturday about the long run that I did.

Monday, May 7

After that I took one day off from running and on Monday I did an uphill interval. That was when I discovered this amazing view of Kufstein. This is for sure one of the best view points, because you can see the center of the city with the fortress and you are actually quite close to the city:

In the evening I made myself some homemade burgers. Everything was made by myself (except for the bread). It tasted really delicious:

Tuesday, May 8

The next day I did a longer run again, with an extreme uphill section. It started out easy with 5 km on almost flat terrain, followed by an insane 1300 meter climb to arrive at the top of Petersköpfl (1745m) with an amazing view. The climb was definitely worth it:

The first 1000 meters of the climb are actually part of the race that I will be doing next month on the 17th of June.

Wednesday, May 9

On Wednesday I did an uphill tempo run, where I tried to go as fast as I could to the top of Möslalm. I did actually manage to break my personal record and I made it to the hut in 20 mins and 20 seconds (440 vertical meters) and all the way to the top in 26 mins and 28 seconds (577 vertical meters).

Thursday to Sunday, May 10 to May 13

From Thursday till Sunday I went to Klagenfurt with my beach volleyball club for a training camp. If you didn't know yet, besides running I love to play volleyball. During winter I play indoor volleyball and in summer beach volleyball. At the beginning of each season we go to Klagenfurt for a training camp. During the days we play volleyball and in the evenings we eat, drink and enjoy ourselves in the wellness area of the hotel. AND I managed to squeeze in two short runs on Thursday and on Friday:

Monday, May 14

To get back into running and because I was still feeling my legs from all the beach volleyball training over the weekend, I did and easy uphill run on Monday. I went for a new trail in Kufstein, which goes along the three lakes Pfrillsee, Längsee and Hechtsee. Once again I saw a deer - can you spot it?

Tuesday, May 15

The next day I went for a long run again with lots of vertical meters. I first went up to Juffinger Jöchl and then to Möslalm, which made a total of 24km and 1150 vertical meters. On one part of the trail I saw a HUGE fire salamander. I have actually never seen one of them around there before:

Wednesday and Thursday, May 16 and 17

The last two days I did two short runs. On Wednesday a short uphill tempo run and yesterday an easy uphill recovery run. You will see more details of the various runs at the end of this post:

I think that was everything that happened in the last week 😅 I will try to post about every (or almost every) single run again from now on. Anyways I did fail at the vertical challenge last week, because of the beach volleyball training camp. I reached only about 2555 vertical meters of the 4500 goal. This means I will try to do 4000 vertical meters this week, from which I already did 2050 meters from Monday to Thursday.
