TGIF 🍻🍷, happy new year🎉 and a very warm welcome to my world 😊. The weekend is upon us yet again and the stepping continued unabated. It's that time of day to share some of the trending stories and also how my day has been. As always many thanks for stopping by and let's take it away 💨.
So as always my day began with a little bit of stretching then a few rounds of brisk walking around the neighbourhood. That fresh morning breeze🍃 was so wonderful. A nice short walk then I was back indoors where I rested then got on with the little daily chores around the house. In between I caught up with the latest news and watched some crypto and youtube. My next walking came later in the afternoon getting some fruits and veggies at the shopping centre. Then I was back indoors for the usual nap. I woke up feeling refreshed some time early evening. watched the news then it was time for the sunset walk. As always slow paced around the neighbourhood and park. So that was the stepping and now let's quickly look at what trended in the media.
Locally, nothing much happening except the usual political shenanigans 😹, a win for the govt as court of appeal lifted ban on the president's health levy that seeks to provide affordable healthcare to all Kenyans. Let's hope it works well💯.
Globally, things are still the same in Gaza, another devastating day as Israel intensified airstrikes in Khan Younis and Gaza city😿.
Deaths reported as injured people were rushed to the Nasser hospital that's close to shutdown😭.
Also trending, Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu, has had a call with US president Biden discussing that war in Gaza. The US is favoring a two state solution after the war but Netanyahu opposes the existence of a free Palestine state🙀.
In Europe, Swiss prosecutors confirmed that Israeli president Isaac Herzog was subject of criminal complaints in Davos😹. He has left Davos where he was attending the world economic forum.
Japan trending as it becomes the fifth country to make a landing on the moon 🌕. Though power supply problems may hinder it's mission. The united States, the Soviet union, China and India are the other four that managed to land space crafts on the lunar surface. So is there a sun🌞 mission or is too hot to even dare😹. Just kidding.
Finally in crazy weather, there's blankets of snow going on in northern Europe. Then heavy rains have caused flooding in Syria. Down under rain delayed the Australian open. In Nairobi we have just had a heavy downpour too😹.
