Hello everyone 👋,
Happy Tuesday 🎉 and a very warm welcome to my report 😊. It's been just another ordinary day stepping it out. Time to wrap things up and look forward to tomorrow. . Before that let's quickly take a look at how my stepping went and also what's trending in the media streets. As always thank you for stopping by and let's get started 💨.
So just like yesterday, I started the day with a few rounds of brisk walking 👣 around the neighborhood 🌲. A nice session and then I was back indoors for some resting and the usual house chores. It's been quite sunny 🌞 the entire day even as i walked to the shopping centre in the afternoon as opposed to the cloudy☁️ days we have been having lately.
I later had my usual nap and then woke up to some cooking and news. Next it was time for the sunset walk, that went well and I made it back home safe and sound. To finish off let's quickly look at the trending stories of the day.
Locally, the usual political shenanigans 😹 kept going, otherwise a quiet day.
On the continent south Africa trending as the BRICS summit kicked off, Chinese president in attendance but Putin will be joining electronically. Discussions will be on a wide range but dropping the USD in their dealings is what is catching people's attention😹. South African officials say more than 40 countries have expressed interest in joining the BRICS alliance 💯.
In Europe Denmark trending as they began training Ukrainian pilots on F16 fighter jets.
Let's go to the middle east, Iran trending as it unveiled a new drone that they say is capable of striking targets in Israel 🙀. They are definitely playing with fire😹.
Not far off Pakistan trending as all eight people have been rescued from a cable car stuck 300 metres above the ground. They included 6 children and two adults. That was amazing 💯.
Let's stay in Asia, Thailand trending as former PM Thaksin Shinowatra was arrested just after landing in the country😹. He has been in exile for fifteen years during which time he was tried in absentia and sentenced to 8 years in prison🙀. That sentence began today and today the parliament appointed a new PM.
Àcross the pond in the US, 2 of the 19 people accused of conspiring to overturn 2020 presidential election have surrendered😹. Donald Trump says he will surrender to authorities in Georgia to face the charges. A judge overseeing the case case has set his bail at $200,000.
In crazy weather, a forest fire 🔥 in north west Turkey has forced authorities to shut down the Dardaneli Strait to maritime traffic as firefighters use the water to try and put out the fire.
A sad case in Greece were 18 burnt bodies were recovered in an area near the Turkish border. They are believed to be of migrants who were caught up in wild fires on a mission to cross into Europe😭. My sincere condolences💯.
