Estamos en el tercer domingo del mes de junio, es el ‘Día del Padre’, por lo menos en esta parte del mundo. El clima ha estado con lluvias y un tanto fresco, me alegro de que no he tenido que salir otra vez, porque la última vez que salimos a comprar nos agarró un poco de lluvia y volvimos a tener malestar de gripe mi hermano y yo.

Es interesante que la fecha de la celebración se estableciera en tiempo de postguerra, bueno, por lo menos eso es luego de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, pero en una época en que Estados Unidos estaba metido en distritos conflictos militares en varias partes del mundo, además de que su influencia en el mundo occidental (militar, económica, política y diplomática) se había disparado al cielo. Con la progresiva expansión de la presencia norteamericana, ya fuera por sus empresas o por sus bases militares, se propagaron también sus celebraciones y varios de sus rasgos culturales, eso incluye esta celebración de hoy.
