みなさん、こんばんは。

There exists "katakana English" when you talk about Japanese English.
日本での英語を話すときには「カタカナ英語」がつきものですよね。

A few years ago, I didn't think about katakana English much.
数年前、まだ私は特にカタカナ英語についてなんとも思っていませんでした。

But a dog changed my way of thinking about it.
ですが、一匹の犬によって考え方が変わりました。

This is nothing serious but a funny story.
これ真面目な話ではなく、おかしな話です。

I was in Australia at that time, and I was playing with the dog.
その時私はオーストラリアにいて、その犬と遊んでいました。

Since the dog was adopted while I was staying in my host family's house, I was testing her what she could do.
私がホストファミリーのお家にいる間にもらった犬だったので、どんなことができるのか色々と試していました。

I said "paw" and she gave me her paw.
私が「お手」というと、お手をしてくれました。

Then, I said "Shitto" and she stared at me and did nothing.
そして今度は「̪̪シット」というと、犬は私を見つめるだけで何もしてくれませんでした。

I just thought, OK, she just hadn't learned "sit" yet.
きっとまだお座りはマスターしていないんだな、ぐらいにしか思ってませんでした。

But I saw her doing "sit" with my host brother.
でも私は見てしまったのです！その犬がホストブラザーとお座りをしている姿を。

"WHY!?!? Don't you like me?" I said to her.
「なんで～！？私のこと嫌いなん？」とその犬に言いました。

I thought let's try it again and I said "shitto."
もう一回してみるか、と思ってまた「シット」と言いました。

The dog ran away from me.
するとその犬はどこかへ行ってしまいました。

I asked my host brother "Why doesn't her listen to me?"
私はホストブラザーに「なんで私の言うこと聞いてくれんのん？」と聞きました。

Then he said "You are saying 'shit' to her."
するとホストブラザーは「君、sitじゃなくてshitって言ってる」と言いました。

OHHHHHHH! That's why she didn't listen to me!!!
あああああ！じゃけぇ言うこと聞いてくれんかったんじゃ！！！

Finally, I said "I am sorry. Can you sit?" to the dog and she sat in front of me :D
今度こそ！と思って「変なこと言ってごめんね。お座りできる（sit）？」と言うとその犬は私の前に座ってくれました！笑

I realized how correct pronunciation is important when you communicate with people and even with animals!
私は人だけではなく動物ともコミュニケーションするときに正確な発音が大事だと気付きました！

The dog taught me such an important lesson.
私はその犬に大事なことを教わりました。

Thereafter, I am trying to speak collectly... oops correctly!! lol
それからはできるだけ正確に発音できるように頑張っています！
