Distributed Version Control Systems and Their Importance on Software Development

Developing software without a form of version control can be dangerous and similarly comparable to not having backups. A blockchain data structure, like that of steem, gives us the ability to create digital ledgers of interactions and transactions. These are shared among a distributed network of computers.

When we develop software applications having a similar ledger of changes to track is critical and particularly important when collaborating. A version control is very effective for a detailed history of updates, reverting code back to previous working states, and also an extremely use tool to improve work-flow for code commits.

One of those most popular version controls systems is Git. Since a young child I've always been a creator and fascinated with innovation. One of my favorite speeches is from a great innovator, Linus Torvalds. You might of actually heard of something else he created... Linux.
