Nothing can replace the love of a mother, whether young or old, your mother will always be there for you. But for those extremely unlucky like me, that death came and snatched our mothers away from us, we have been subject to a huge paradigm shift, an augmentation in life that might never be realigned till old age.
Once you enter this phase, only few people remembers you, except for some that were divinely touched from above. These are the people that will place calls to check on you, ask if your job or business is going well or even trouble you to get married that's if they ain't already fixing a lady for you(coughs). I have just a few of those around, they are loyalist to my late mom, she called them when she was down or needed prayers or even loans. It was a tough stay for my mother while on earth as a widow, but she tried her best and fought valiantly till her last breath.
Today, I was opportuned to talk to one of those people in my life after a very long time, yes she's my aunt in the UK and I knew my moms passing took a toll on her because she had no other confidant amongst her siblings except her little sister, my dear mother. I'm very emotional, it's in my moms family line, so is my aunt. I couldn't stand tears if we talk on the phone so I stayed off contacting her for years. However, guilt has been on my trail since late last year, I tried reaching her before the new year it wasn't successful, but today we spoke and boy it was a long deep talk, like she was talking to her lil sister, my mom.
To those mourning the passing of their mom or father, I'll say accept my condolences. Its a tough rocky road ahead for such is the pain of death, an eternal scar, the sadness of not having anyone to confide in as your mother. In hope I write this, may we all heal from the demise of our loved ones, Amen!
