If only I could take a step back,
Back to the moment I saw you leave,
I'd say goodbye in a breathy voice,
So that you would know what I still feel here.
But reality is relentless,
Time never stands still,
And my goodbye has not been realised,
For the chance has gone now.
So I'm left with this sadness,
A remnant of what might have been,
An unrealised goodbye in muteness,
That will haunt my soul till dawn.
