It was nice returning to Lunenburg. About three weeks was spent there last season. Instead of a mooring ball, this visit we used the hook. There is a great anchorage right in the harbor, just below the golf course.
My mouth was watering for some fresh haddock; so after the Admiral was eventually persuaded, we took the dinghy ashore to dine at the Fish Shack. Once back onboard, after reading while the Admiral worked on video editing, it was early to the bunks.

The next morning we turned our attention to an overheating of the engine which came to light just as we were dropping our sails and motoring to the anchorage in the harbor. It turned out that a crack had formed on the cap of the strainer; which strains the sea water brought onboard to act as a heat exchange for the engine.
We gave Doug, at the Boat Locker, a call. He said he could have a replacement for us the next day. We bypassed the strainer in the meantime just in case the engine was needed and turned our attention to another project. A wind generator was included in the purchase of Makina, yet its installation had not been finished.
Mounting it was a little tricky with such a weight at the top of the poll, yet we managed through without dropping anything or anyone into the brink. We also named this new crew member... "Windy".

After a nice supper and a little reading sleep came quickly.
At around 10:00 the next morning, true to his word, Doug called to say that our part had arrived. We wasted little time making it ashore to pick it up. We also took the opportunity for a nice lunch of pulled pork sandwiches at a local establishment. Once back onboard the installation went fairly smoothly and we felt confident to set out for an afternoon sail.
Like our passage to Lunenburg we basically followed the wind once out of the harbor. It led us back towards Mahone Bay. We decided to try another of MICA's mooring balls. This time we decided on the Long Island location which was near enough to the Bay's entrance to make it in before darkness fell.
After mooring we had time for Pierre to get in a nice drone flight and preparing a nice stir fry before the sun dropped below the horizon. It was a fairly late night working on the post and editing videos. Finally a little after midnight things finally settled down onboard and sleep found us.
