케이팝 무대에서 안무뿐 아니라 의상·조명·무대 구성까지 조율하는 퍼포먼스 디렉터의 역할이 주목받고 있다. 9월 12일 코리아타임스는 8월 18일 시작한 엠넷 ‘디렉터스 워’를 통해 이러한 변화를 소개했다. 안무가 10명이 참여한 첫 미션은 안무 창작과 무대 연출을 별도로 평가했고, 두 부문의 승자가 달라지기도 했다. 춤 동작을 만드는 능력과 공연 전체를 구성하는 능력의 차이가 드러난 것이다. 최종 우승자에게는 글로벌 시상식의 오프닝 무대를 연출할 기회가 주어진다.
