cryptocurrency hacked
I keep reading how all these other sites keep getting hacked. Most recently it was Bitfinex. Before that it was Mt. Gox and Bitpay. All of these most likely had some type of security. I'm not saying they had good or bad security. Aside from that we know that the bitcoin is a large target due to it's value. Like my title states a lock (security) is really only a deterrent for someone who thinks about hacking or the little hacker that's not that good but want to impress his friends. Not to long ago it was this site. With this being said if someone wants in badly enough. They will find a way in. Maybe it's just to cause grief or maybe they are out to steal. Whatever the reason nothing is nothing it fool proof.
Now the benefit to these hacks is it pushes these currencies into the forefront for people who either don't know about it or maybe people who do know a bit to jump in. That is what I did. Up until last week I steered clear of bitcoin, altcoin, steem you name it. I didn't really understand it. Now that I've spent some time on this site and read the many great articles. I've got a better understanding.
Now as Steemit evolves their security will get better and in the long run I think Steemit will become as great a force as the all might bitcoin. Maybe I'm wrong but I hope not.
