Maragheh city is located in southwest of province and south foothills of Sahand mountain and is 130 km away from Tabriz. Maragheh is one of the oldest cities in Iran. This city was the base of Arab army at the time of resistance war of Babak Khorramdin against Arabs. The Brigades of Mongol seized Maragheh in 628 AH and the command center of Holakokhan in Maragheh was still available in 656. The most important monuments of this city are:
