I have long been critical of the Amish for abusive and really negligent things. I have 100s of videos on youtube about a variety of topics in regards to the Amish. My Mom's second cousin David Yoder had a website called Amish Deception, now defunct, but he later self-published it into a book. I used to talk to David a lot about a decade ago on the phone, and it got me started on the youtube system, and he later started his own Youtube.
With that in mind, lets look at this photo:
This is an image of an Amish guy supposedly beating a horse, though it does not actually show such abuse. And then... you look again:
One of the charges was that the guy had a single horse hooked to a wagon that was too big for it. And the guy pled guilty to that charge, so hooray for the activist, right?! Well, that second look tells you that the wagon also had a team pole, meaning that, while the Amish guy pled guilty to the charges, he did so in spite of the fact that it had 2 horses on that wagon.
So why did he plead guilty to a charge, when he clearly was not guilty?
As a former Amish, I know that they do not like to go to court. They go by the Bible in this quote: "And if anyone wants to sue you and take your shirt, hand over your coat as well." (Matthew 5:40, NIV)
I think the issue is that they did just not want to fight the charge in court due to that bible verse, though it was more than just his money at stake, in this case, it also had his reputation that was ruined by the state, and the woman that took the photo, Tawn Crowther.
One person pointed out that the photo also shows the horse's tongue out, and said that it is a sign of brain-aneurysm.
