This year we have planted groundnuts in different sections based on availability of seeds and when we could afford enough seed to cover the whole field.

While we are started harvest on one part of the field., I just observed that this one is still in the stage of producing first flower.

Healthy growing groundnuts produce first flower after about two months of planting, by the 4th month it produces a second flower to show that the fruits are getting ripe.

These were planted in late July as against the March - May ola ting season of groundnuts.

The first sets of groundnuts are Ripe and are just about harvesting them while these ones will take extra months.

The soil here is not so fertile like the other fields as we notice some yellowing of leaves.

Even the corn used to mix with the groundnut on the same is who inc sign or retarded growth.

We can apply organic manure to the maize but groundnut been a leguminous plant will have to survive this condition and produce sufficient harvest.

Somehow these mixed cropping is really keeping us very busy but once harvest is done it will be time to sit and enjoy those December holidays.
