But when we, or at least I, say 'covid is basically a flu now', that's not saying it is intrinsically, actually a flu. Flu is specifically Influenza, a markedly different virus to Corona, which is an umbrella term for a bunch of viruses, which can be anything from a common cold up to something way more deadly - all of which when combined, we all get multiple times per year throughout history - even a single one of these can and do come an go several times in a year.

I just don't see anything strange or overly concerning other than obviously the safety of those at risk which is a higher risk than usual. And, even if there was anything, what is anyone meant to do, exactly?

I could quit my job, stay at home, and get infected by my girlfriend instead. Or I could isolate myself from all people and get infected by a delivery or through the air vents of other apartments. Or lose my job, end up homeless, and get infected on the streets.

I could uproot my entire life, become an American Citizen where I can freely live in the woods thousands of miles from civilisation and chop wood for warmth. But then maybe it's in the river water or on a deer that sneezes at me.

Like, it's just not worth that level of commitment to what is, functionally a common cold.

BUT, if you have lost the spirit of debate then I, too, will shut down and move on =D Haven't done it in a while tbh
