I wasted a minute of my life and sanity to search the Presidential "debate", just to see what our future-rulers have in store for us; I lasted no longer. But before I could shut off the political theater that is democracy, meant to give legitimacy to itself, by saying: "you had your chance to vote", I couldn't help but read, behind Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton's heads, from the Declaration of Independence:
"..whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends
[man's natural rights], it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it.."
If now is not that time the State isn't found too dangerous to exist anymore, then I don't know what is. They are stepping up their game this time around, and we can only hope the inevitable economic depression they've successfully staved off for a decade now does not end catastrophically, where the State seizes the opportunity to grab more power, instituting their desired world government, arrogating more power to itself, declaring outright monopolies, launching wars, sending the police marching into the streets, and other things that States do when their day of reckoning has arrived.
It's my view that we don't need to violently overthrow the government, we don't need to convince a large majority of people to go along with our ideas, even. All that's necessary is that we—a large minority of those adamantly claiming their self-ownership—are ideologically motivated to be free and shake our chains; to resist forevermore the coercion that induces us into following their "laws", paying their taxes, and complying with their commands. We can govern ourselves, and they're scared of that fact.
It's not true that we need a centralized government, and it's not true we can't have liberty. If we are to live and prosper, we cannot be ruled and expropriated by these people claiming a superior right to exercise authority over us. Whoever is next up at the helm of their territorial monopoly that seeks to subjugate everyone in its jurisdiction, we should assert that we are not their slaves anymore; that they're irrelevant to our lives, and that they do not have the "consent of the governed."
In the rare chance you can opt-out of this "social contract" they say I've accepted, let it be heard: "I don't want your services, government. I will protect myself. Hillary Clinton, Donald Trump, you don't own me!"
Whether as an individual, a neighborhood, a small group, region, city or state, secession is libertarian and the way out. Declare yourself free and owned. Don't wait for them.
Abolish slavery — end the State.
