Horní Slezsko, where my roots are, in the 1920s was split between Poland and Germany. My great-grandfather at one point moved to adjacent city, just 5km away. Sounds like nothing, I have moved that much in my life a couple of times. But in 1925 it was a migration from Germany to Poland. A major life decision!
