Hello my Hivers friends, here I come back with a new post for you, this time, I will tell you about my grandfather, that although he is no longer with me physically, I always carry him in my heart. I know that many know what it feels like to love someone special, who marks our lives forever, so I hope you like all these brushstrokes of memories.
When I was little I lived with my grandparents, because my mom got sick and couldn't take care of me anymore. We presented many needs, but with much love surrounded by uncles and cousins. I lived with an aunt who was like my second mother, a cousin who was like my brother and my grandparents who were the best people in the world, my idols and guides. That place was wonderful, you could breathe fresh air, the chirping of the birds made your day happy and the taste of the spring water was spectacular. It was in a wooden but very spacious and comfortable house where I have the best memories.
My grandfather, whom I am talking about in this story, was like a child, because he was never angry, he played with us, he even freed us from punishment. He was always happy, even he did very clever mischief to us. He truly feels empty, not being physically with us, but his anecdotes, jokes and teachings continue to be present in our day to day. A lifelong farmer, he worked the land with a lot of love and dedication, he left in the morning after having his little coffee for breakfast, returning in the middle of the afternoon to eat what my grandmother had prepared for lunch.
I remember that at that time there was no electric light, we used to light up with an old oil lamp, but my favorite time was at night, because it was the time where my grandfather, after a day of work, in the light of the moon and the firecrackers. He sat in the doorway, leaning on his stool, to tell us his memories. All full of love, joy, some funny, sometimes also some sad, sometimes even fearful, but all of them with many teachings.
Those nights were wonderful, my grandfather became our favorite actor every day, because in addition to the life stories he told us daily, he taught us tenths, peasant songs, even tongue twisters that were hours and hours with stomach pain from laughing so much , Well, his tongue got stuck, what to say about the tenths for nothing came out with the intonation. We were a horde of boys around him, traveling with his imagination.
My grandfather, that person whom we climbed every night on an imaginary stage, made us happy despite not having wealth or many things to offer, he taught us in each story he told that you don't need to have much outside when you have a lot to offer. inside, he taught us that the greatest wealth of the human being is in his humility and in doing good to others. He taught us that in life, apart from health, the most important thing is family. And that when one dies he only takes the good stories that he lived.
Every day when I wake up, I remember that smiling face, mischievous, as if I had been an old man with a child's soul, with that memory all the instilled values come to my mind, all the life stories told, which remind us every day of the people we are Today life has changed, there are fewer needs than before, but we will never forget our essence, or where we come from. Thanks to those anecdotes told, education and memories of my grandfather.
