Yes, the Fed is run by the Wall Street banks who own most of the shares in the New York Fed. The NY Fed is the only one of the 12 regional banks that gets a vote every year on the FOMC.

@cv3, It's difficult to say but I would speculate that those who think they are wealthy will have a shock. I think the important thing is to preserve what you have been able to accumulate or save.
