I don't have much to say about the blank document. Because? Because every day is the first thing I see when I start writing. A pale, white sheet, without any character on it, waiting for you to put something on it, always ready to receive and show what is indicated. In my case, it's digital, but for a few moments I echo past times and fly back to the era when there were no computers, and all documents were written by freehand, because there were no typewriters either. And there were the blank pages, those empty documents ready to be filled.

But what could they contain? It could be anything from a secret message from a woman to her lover to meet at midnight in a secret place and kiss each other, it could be a letter from a king declaring war on another monarch for considering the dowry sent by his daughter offensive, it could be Being the report of the arrival of the new shipment of camels that was waiting in the port for 15 days, it could include the plans of an amazing flying machine designed by a certain Leonardo, or simply a sketch of a drawing by a certain Picasso. Actually, it could contain anything.

And that is precisely the magic of a blank document, the power to be filled with anything and convey the message.

Today, this is the idea that gave me the prompt of the day. ✨

No tengo mucho que decir sobre el documento en blanco. ¿Por qué? Porque todos los días es lo primero que veo cuando voy a comenzar a escribir. Una hoja pálida, blanca, sin ningún carácter en ella, aguardando a que le ponga algo, siempre lista a recibir y mostrar lo que se le indica. En mi caso, es digital, pero por unos momentos hago eco de tiempos pasados y vuelo hacia la era en la que no existían las computadoras, y todos los documentos se escribían a mano alzada, porque tampoco existían máquinas de escribir. Y allí estaban las hojas en blanco, esos documentos vacíos dispuestos a ser llenados.

¿Pero qué podían contener? Podía ser desde un mensaje secreto de una mujer a su amante para encontrarse a media noche en un lugar secreto y comerse a besos, podría ser una carta de un rey declarándole la guerra a otro monarca por considerar ofensiva la dote enviada por su hija, podía ser el informe del arribo del nuevo cargamento de camellos que estaba esperando en el puerto hace ya 15 días, podía incluir los planos de una asombrosa máquina voladora diseñada por un tal Leonardo, o simplemente un boceto de un dibujo de un tal Picasso. En realidad, podía contener cualquier cosa.

Y precisamente esa es la magia de un documento en blanco, el poder ser llenada de cualquier cosa y transmitir el mensaje.
