Good morning, my wonderful friends here. This is the oldest temple here in Miri City, and it has been extended in the last couple of years. There is the new section as well as the older section. So, at the moment, it looks quite new and vibrant.
There is a golden dragon that wraps around the temple, protecting the temple.
The main gate into the temple. This is a popular temple that many worshippers come to worship.
This whole place outside the gate used to be part of the sea, but this whole area was reclaimed a couple of decades ago.
This was lifted into the vicinity using a sky lift. This temple is quite clean. It is also usually crowded during important dates. It is a 7-foot granite deity statue of Tua Peh Kong.
This part is new and was just completed being renovated a couple of months ago. This is the stage for performances or sometimes for charitable events.
This was the original part of the temple. It was here before both World War I and II. This temple has been here since 1913. This year is the year 2026. It is around 113 years old. Most of the faded paint has been restored, and the dragons that guard the temple look vibrant again. Miri was once upon a time invaded and occupied by the Japanese in 1941 for the lucrative oil fields.
The whole town was destroyed except for this temple, which survived.
This is also a popular place for visitors.

A lot of the lanterns are hung up here to put the names of those who are to be blessed.
At night, the rows of lanterns light up and it becomes red in colour.
