On my last walk, I explored the stunning landscapes of the Cotswolds, a region renowned for its picturesque villages and rolling hills. Starting in Bourton-on-the-Water, I strolled along the charming River Windrush, which meanders through the village. The iconic low stone bridges and the quaint cottages with their thatched roofs made for a postcard-perfect scene.

As I walked, I visited the Cotswold Motoring Museum, which was fascinating! It houses a remarkable collection of vintage cars and memorabilia that tell the story of motoring history in the UK. The museum was also a delightful homage to British culture in the 20th century.

Continuing on the trail, I passed through the lovely village of Upper Slaughter. The name itself is intriguing, and the village did not disappoint—its serene beauty was punctuated by the sound of water flowing in the stream nearby. While taking a break on a bench, I met a lovely elderly couple who shared stories about their own walks in the Cotswolds. They had travelled to many parts of England and recommended some hidden gems I must see!

I also marveled at the stunning views from the hills near Stow-on-the-Wold, another charming market town. The rolling pastures and dry-stone walls created a beautiful tapestry of greens and golds—a quintessentially English landscape. It struck me how rich in history this area is, as I learned about the wool trade that once thrived here, making the Cotswolds one of the wealthiest areas during the Middle Ages.

The combination of nature, history, and the wonderful people I met made this walk truly memorable. Each step was a reminder of the beauty that our country holds, and I can’t wait to plan my next adventure!
