As I made my way along the trail, I passed through rolling hills dotted with sheep and the occasional dry stone wall—a classic sight in the Cotswolds. The path meandered through ancient woodland, where the rustling of leaves and chirping of birds created a serene atmosphere. I also stumbled upon a few beautiful wildflower meadows bursting with life, which made me pause to take a few photographs. The vibrant colours were a reminder of the beauty of nature in early summer.
I met a fellow walker named Sarah, who was also exploring the Cotswold Way. We struck up a conversation about our favourite walking spots in England, and she shared her love for the Lake District as we walked together for a while. It was lovely to connect with someone who shared the same passion for history and nature! She mentioned her interest in the local folklore surrounding the area, particularly the legend of the Cotswold lion, which I found fascinating.
As I continued my journey, I made a detour to visit the historic Broadway Tower, a folly built in the late 18th century. The panoramic views from the top were simply breathtaking, allowing me to see the patchwork of fields and villages that make this part of England so picturesque. I spent some time there, reflecting on the history of the tower and the landscapes that have inspired poets and artists for centuries.
After a lengthy and fulfilling day of walking, I returned to Chipping Campden, where I treated myself to a slice of Victoria sponge cake and a proper cup of tea at a local café
