My last walk took me along the stunning Cotswold Way, a picturesque trail that stretches through some of the most beautiful countryside in England. Starting from the charming village of Chipping Campden, I set off early in the morning, greeted by a crisp bite in the air and the golden hues of autumn leaves.

As I walked, I was surrounded by rolling hills dotted with sheep and the iconic dry stone walls that give the Cotswolds its character. The air was filled with the scent of wood smoke from nearby cottages, and I couldn't resist stopping to admire the quaint stone buildings that seem to have been untouched by time. One particular sight that caught my eye was the historic St. James' Church, with its beautiful tower and intricate carvings. I took a few moments to appreciate the craftsmanship and think about the many generations that had walked these same paths.

Along the way, I met a fellow walker named Sarah, an enthusiastic history teacher from London. We struck up a conversation about our favorite walking routes, and she shared fascinating stories about the history of the area, including tales of the wool trade that once flourished here. It was nice to meet someone who shared my passion for history and hiking!

As I continued my journey, I ventured through quaint villages like Blockley, where I paused for a hot cup of tea in a local café. The villagers were welcoming, and I enjoyed chatting with some locals who shared their own history of the area, including anecdotes about the famous author J.R.R. Tolkien who was inspired by the Cotswolds.

The final stretch of my walk led me to Broadway Tower, a stunning folly that offers panoramic views of the surrounding countryside. Standing atop the tower, I felt a deep sense of connection to the land and its history. It was a reminder of the beauty of England and how its landscapes tell stories that are just waiting to be discovered.

As I made my way back to Chipping Campden, I couldn’t help but feel grateful for
