As I walked, I was surrounded by breathtaking views of the rugged coastline. The cliffs were adorned with vibrant wildflowers, and I caught sight of the turquoise waters crashing against the rocks below. I paused often to take in the beauty, snapping pictures of the dramatic scenery at places like Lands End and the picturesque village of St. Ives.
Along the way, I encountered a few fellow walkers—many were on holiday, like a lovely couple from Yorkshire who had come to explore Cornwall’s beauty. They shared some great local recommendations, including a quaint tea shop in Mousehole that served the best scones I've ever tasted! I also met an older gentleman who was a local historian. He shared fascinating stories about shipwrecks along the coast and the area's smuggling history, which really piqued my interest as a history student.
One of the highlights was spotting a group of seals basking on the rocks. Their playful nature gave me a sense of joy and reminded me of the natural wonders that can be found in England’s coastal regions.
I ended my walk at a charming pub overlooking the sea, where I enjoyed a well-deserved pint of local ale and reflected on the day. It was a perfect blend of nature, history, and meeting new people—a reminder of why I love exploring my country so much!
