One of the highlights was passing through the charming village of Alfriston. It’s steeped in history, with many of its buildings dating back to the 14th century. I stopped at a quaint little tea shop, where I met an elderly local named Mrs. Thompson, who shared fascinating anecdotes about the village's history. She told me about the beautiful St. Andrews Church, which has an unusual wooden tower, and how the village has attracted artists and writers over the years.
As I continued my walk, I came across the iconic Seven Sisters Cliffs. The dramatic white chalk cliffs against the deep blue sea were breathtaking. I paused to take it all in and snap a few photos. While there, I met a group of hikers who were also enjoying the views. We exchanged stories about our favorite walks and the historical landmarks we'd encountered.
Overall, it was a wonderful day filled with natural beauty and rich history, reminding me of why I love exploring England's diverse landscapes. Each walk not only offers scenic delights but also the chance to connect with people and stories that make our history come alive.
