You can see in this photo of their pro level Speedlites, how the two flashes compare from the back:

So, Canon removed physical lever and exiled… OK, moved the wireless modes to the menu. What’s the big deal? Well, it was done in the most unfortunate way. You have to press button, then hold it while choice pops up, then make your choice. And the procedure goes for every flash in the group. And you didn’t have a quick way to control only one flash for a quick exceptional shots, which does not need a whole group. Utterly disastrous ‘improvement’ because of which I completely lost interest in flashes… Until Godox came out with iT32 and X5 concept!
Now, this is beautiful. It is not the biggest and strongest flash on the market, it has a GN of 18 with ISO 100, but it has been made with all points needed in contemporary photography with an excellent use of a contemporary technology. Wireless mode is automatically detected as you take the flash off its (magnetic) foot that serves as a transmitter.

If you want to make it off-camera flash, you simply take the head of its shoe! If you want to change something, you don’t have to use stupid press-and-wait-for-the-option interface. It has Li-iON cell for quick refresh and USB-c charging. It has HSS – High Speed Synch. It even has a full synchro with the new Sony’s Global Shutter! And the kit of iT32 and X5 is under $100… I would call it spectacular!
