#TTRPG #GenCon You know what? I was wrong. $16 for a seat at the table for a 3-hour to 4-hour gaming slot is hardly worth noticing. How about $128? I'm pained and I have words.

#TTRPG #GenCon Poking around at the Gen Con RPG event list, I have to admit, I'm pretty saddened by the whole thing. Not just for the selection.

#TTRPG #GMing #advice Can you believe that some people charge $1,500 for a workshop on how new GMs should run their games? Harmony Ginger has some pretty decent advice that fits into a single tweet. I'm

#TTRPG #space Someone really wanted to know what's the best TTRPG for outer space. They provided the options Traveller, Starfinder, and GURPS. It's none of those. I might have some words.

#TTRPG #TheBondsman #TV Despite the fact that we can't have nice things, The Bondsman on Amazon Prime is some of the best horror gaming inspiration I've seen in quite a while. Let's talk about why.

It's okay to be a nobody, but it's probably unwise to be unaware of the history of a thing. Yes, Chainmail was the predecessor to D&D 1st Ed, very explicitly.

#TTRPG #DnD #boardgames Wizards of the Coast has decided they want to make the Dungeons & Dragons starter set more like a board game. Some people think that's entirely unlike an RPG. I disagree at

Everybody who played old red box D&D had mass battle in D&D. It did evolve from Chainmail, after all. Kind of hard to deny that.

So, no worse, and just equal, all things considered. I think that's what we have to go with, assessment-wise.

#TTRPG #Starforged I love it when people ask interesting questions that require complicated answers. In this case, someone on Reddit has some trouble interpreting the difference between weak hits and misses

Or are they representing their own stand-alone vote-harvesting system, of the kind we've seen automated before? Color me curious.

Obviously, they're not voting. Or, if they are, we've already accepted that automated voting is acceptable. Are they just out trolling too, to get votes?

Has anyone asked the really important question? Are these AI-generated comments of a higher quality than the usual stuff that you get from human beings doing a drive-by?

#TTRPG #DnD #EuroVsBoardGame Have you ever watched a classic property change entirely from one thing to another over the decades? I believe you probably have. It's D&D. From board game to Eurogame.

#TTRPG #Wushu #FourthOfJuly Just as I threatened to do yesterday, I've put together a bit of a scenario so that you can play out one of the greatest pieces of art known to man for the 4th of July. George

Frankly, my love of Jack Chick tracts is ancient and unholy, but I'm fully willing to admit that, taking the opportunity to write at significant length about one of them just made me laugh. It was good

#TTRPG #Starforged The truth was, there was no way someone would ask how I would run Alligator Alcatraz as a TTRPG setup without immediately putting together some Starforged elements. The women-in-prison

#TTRPG #DnD #campaign #Starforged #DarkDungeons Do you love Jack Chick tracts? Dark Dungeons Awaits. Do you love Waterdeep? Do you love Starforged: Sundered Isles? If we put all that in a blender and give

#TTRPG #GMing Once again, social media inspires a relatively lengthy response. The traditional concepts of the role of DM/GM are referee versus storyteller. But what if I told you, you don't have to pick

This is what happens when someone gives you an image prompt and tells you to create a creature, and they expect something more D&D. Not me—I’ll come back with Ironsworn stats because that's how I roll.
