I was very fortunate last year one of my collectors gave me two painting commissions. The previous post, Golden Light 2.5 and this one. "Burning Desire II", 50 x 70cm, oil on canvas As you can

One of my collectors last year asked if I could paint a larger version of one of my paintings that he owns. I was happy to fulfil he request as the painting has quite a few subtle plays of colour that

I've finally finished one of the paintings in the studio, that has long been waiting for some attention. "Uberti Addresses Dante", 80 x 100cm, oil on canvas It was inspired by one of Gustave

I'm catching up on posting since my break from Hive last year. Last year I led a workshop, taking students through the steps of painting this study. Normally I sketch the image onto the canvas, but I found

It's been quite some time since I posted on Hive. There's been many things that have kept me busy, and which took priority over posting regularly on Hive. But here I am, back again to show you some of

In the quest for performance improvements, work is currently being done on how the chart calculates indicators. The first improvement is having the chart only calculate the required indicator data instead

One of the things I'm keeping in mind when programming the chart layer hit detection is optimization, because when using a hit layer, there's the potential that drawing to the chart takes double the time.

It's been a while, but I'm back with my latest oil painting. This study of Anthony van Dyck's self portrait. This started out as an exercise that I was doing as a demonstration for one of my students.

With a project this size, one thing always leads to another. There are so many rabbit holes to lose oneself in. I started the research for implementing pixel perfect hit detection for the chart, as currently

I tinkered in a new mini-feature on the chart over the weekend as a "break" from the chart task list. All of the indicator legends can now be simultaneously made visible or hidden, via the API

Big News! I've started working on custom (developer defined) indicators for TradeX. Proof of concept is already working. A developer can add their own indicator/s to the list of default indicators, or

We are now at the very tail end of the wild garlic season, with it very quickly being crowded out by other plants, seeding and dying back for another year. So while the opportunity is there, I'd like to

The beautiful warm sunny weather is upon us, so staying indoors in the studio is not so appealing. Thus I was off to the park with sketchbook, pencils and reference in hand. It is wonderful to be able

An hours drive south of Vienna is the small village of Würflach. You might overlook it on your way passing through it to other places. But over the years, there's been a few features of it that always

To most people, stinging nettles are a painful nuisance. To others like me, they make a tasty dish. They also have many other uses, but that's not the topic of today's post. So, how do we get from a prickly

Within the city limits of Vienna, there is a large 6 km² park / nature reserve of called the Praterwald (Prater Forest). It is a swampy forested flood plain of the Danube River. However, since the 1800's

Now an overgrown shell of what was once in it's day the strongest castle in the region, it is now mostly obscured from public view. You can however catch a glimpse of what were once impressive walls on
