Scientists have suggested that some big canyons on Saturn's moon Titan moon filled with fluid and are part of an extensive river network, which flows into the local sea.
The presence of liquid on Titan was confirmed in the 2000s, thanks to data obtained during the flight of space by the apparatus Cassini satellite. Ponds filled Titan, of course, not the water, it would not be possible with an average temperature of 93.7 Kelvin (-179,5 掳 C), a mixture of hydrocarbons: ethane, propane and methane. Astronomers discovered on Titan for more than thirty lakes, and the three largest of them called Seas. Kraken Mare reaches a length of 1170 km, and its area is about 400 thousand square kilometers, which is larger than that of the Caspian Sea. Area Ligei sea about 100 thousand square kilometers.
According to the data of the canyons on Titan, obtained by the same probe the Cassini, its width is a little less than a kilometer, and the length - 570 meters. The bottom of these canyons as the researchers found, is almost flat. Irregularities in floor not greater than 2.7 millimeters, which is strong evidence in favor of the fact that they are filled with fluid. In addition, the height of the bottom of the canyon coincides with the sea level, in which they fall.
