The funny thing is that I was looking 3 days ago for sign mistakes in some heavy quantum field theoretical calculations. There were two subtle mistakes (leaving thus the final result unaffected). ChatGPT

Ravi de te lire et tout le meilleur pour cette nouvelle année. Ça fait en effet un bail, et j'ai plaisir à voir que tu traînes toujours sur Hive (en tous cas de temps en temps, tout comme moi). Si tu es

It is funny that this old post from @azircon still attracts reaction. I think there may be a misunderstanding of my argument. In particular: You mention that my assumptions on the velocities at t1 and

It is indeed not your specialty, but I thought you might find it interesting, as we wonder from time to time what we really are. Who is actually not? ;)

In fact, in the last statement I was more thinking about the LHC timeline which is easy to grasp at our scale. In four years, the machine will resume its operations until about 2040, to which we can add

Well, I wrote that I should do more but I know I won't... Don't worry, I don't want to die from a burn out anytime soon :D Don't hesitate to tell me whether you come to France. I will probably be fully

Thanks for the engaging comment! Really! There are several closely related but distinct notions getting mixed together here, so let me try to clarify. First, regarding this point: The Wikipedia page states:

Hmmm, this lies quite far from my area of expertise. Therefore, I won't be able to comment a lot. Sorry. As a physicist, I tend to be very cautious with concepts like consciousness, especially when they

I completely agree that trying to 'fight' AI is largely a waste of time. Similar reactions happened at every major technological shift in the way we work and learn. In my view, the only sensible approach

You can always spin the story of working full on science at CERN is in fact, also helping people. Though the help is for the future. But still, helping (assuming what comes out from the fundamental research

Hahaha! I like ping pong (although I am not good at all at that game). I will only add that for AI, there is still a long way to go, but the current state of the art is already quite impressive (knowing

Thank you for your thoughtful comment. It is exactly what makes resurfacing here worthwhile, even if it is just a temporary thing. I could simply reply to your blog by saying that you are absolutely right
