I hear you! We are not quite as expensive as far as Vancouver and Toronto but it's not cheap either. It's getting ridiculous, entire working families homeless is ridiculous. any one with a full time job should make enough to cover housing and basics. Our homeless population doesn't seem to be entire families yet but it is growing and it is partially made up of working class people, a precursor to what you described, also pressure on food banks. Luckily we have a strong giving and fundraising culture here to offer some relief but this model isn't working and as a society, we have to put our heads together to find a solution with dignity once and for all along with some form of rent control measure or more affordable housing. I also like the tiny home villages concept that I saw a video for a homeless veteran community to replace tent cities and offer better protection along with a better chance to get out of homelessness once and for all.

I have a soft spot for single Mothers, most can't afford even the rent alone in this economy. At least one broken family doesn't have to live that way - No doubt, I don't know how they do it as it is and it's getting harder these days with the recent inflation of everything the last few years, yet like stars, they keep their double duty proudly, shinning for their own mini stars somehow.
