Hello to everyone in the Hive community! 🌿✨

There are quiet nights that suddenly transform into unforgettable moments. Tonight was one of them. I was enjoying a comforting cup of coffee in the calm of my home and during a power outage when, suddenly, I heard my neighbor calling out to me with so much excitement from her window.

With contagious enthusiasm, she told me that I had to come see something special: her Queen of the Night (Epiphyllum oxypetalum) had bloomed for the very first time!

Knowing how happy she was filled my heart, but the sweetest part of this story is the plant's origin. A while ago, I gave her a single leaf from my own Queen of the Night. She planted it, cared for it day after day with so much dedication and affection, and tonight, that tiny leaf gifted us its very first majestic bloom.

My neighbor and I share this love for plants. We love getting together to chat, exchange ideas, gardening tips, and tricks on how to care for them so they grow strong and healthy. Every now and then, we visit each other's gardens and swap plants. Seeing how that little cutting from my yard thrived until it produced those beautiful white flowers in hers was an indescribable satisfaction.

We stayed there admiring the elegance of the petals and enjoying the sweet, intense fragrance that only this flower gives off during its few hours of nocturnal life.

For those who don't know it, the Queen of the Night gifts us one of the most fleeting and beautiful phenomena in the plant kingdom: it opens its huge petals at dusk and unveils its beauty for only a few hours, only to wither with the first rays of the morning sun. Witnessing this event alongside someone who cares for her plants with so much love made the night truly unforgettable.
