Sometimes, while watching a movie, I see something interesting, a shot where the actor is close-up. This impresses me. Then I sit down and sketch the image I remember. It's the same when I read a book. I draw memorized scenes. I add my own idea of what I saw in the film, or, in the case of books, I myself come up with how the remembered scene should look like.
