Ode to the Kangaroo
A Sonnet
by kpd
My kangaroo, you inspire me to write.
How I love the way you skip, sneer and skip,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the medieval whip.
Let me compare you to a nonmember?
You are more heavy, primeval and pale.
Pink frost nips the robins of December,
And wintertime has the amusing pail.
How do I love you? Let me count the ways.
I love your moot eyebrows, fingers and lip.
Thinking of your bright fingers fills my days.
My love for you is the buffalo chip.
Now I must away with a caring heart,
Remember my black words whilst we're apart.
