They pay me, @grindle. I'm a work for hire photographer, so I travel to various cities and if the models would like to hire me, I book them. Even at $1000 a session, I really don't make that much money

The secret is to not use any lighting equipment. Just get comfortable shooting with whatever you have available, even if it's just a candle or a lamp.
