@vickoly for stepping in late... But I'm going against the wind or current for today's session but let's roll
Well there are a couple of reasons why i don't, but it was only because i got in contact with a doctrine like never before. I was a celebrator of Christmas, but now well...
Looking at the Christmas from one angle we can't just call it a feast, it's actually a birthday allot of us are intending to celebrate but celebrating the birthday of someone when it's not actually the exact date tends to bring in some confusion. According to research, there is still no precise date to point as to the birth date of Christ but from other factors around we can use it to estimate the time period it's suppose to fall under
According to research again, it's been estimated that an angel visited Zachariah (Father of John the Baptist) when he was in his priestly service and from the calendar calculation, which is the 24 divisions Zachariah time of service was around May 19-26. So after his unbelief, the angel struck him with deaf dumb and the rest so he was dismissed from his duty. Which made him to be home as at this period and the wife was six months pregnant already and that was when the angel Also visited Mary and told her she will take in and give birth to a son and he shall be called Emmanuel and savior of the world
To top it again, the wise men who visited Jesus Christ were described to be outside in the field at night with their sheeps 🐏🐑 when an angel appeared to them and told them the messiah has been born, and according to research, it was a tradition for the shepherds at that region to send their sheeps to the field from spring until the end of September or beginning of October, as the colder winter months starts the flocks would return from the pastures for refuge and warmth. And as clear up there the shepherds were outside, so it will dispute the fact that Christ was even born in December that is winter period and very Cold
Aside from all these facts we are trying to prove up there, let's ask ourselves some important questions
While Christ was here on earth did he or his family even celebrate his birthday?
After his death, did the early Christians celebrate his birthday?
Christ even instituted a feast, which he commanded that we should observe in (Matt 26-30) how many of us are observing that feast he instructed?
Yet we go after celebrations that had no standard foundation or root... Well if it may interest you, the Emperor Constantine the first Christian emperor instituted the practice of Christmas possibly to weaken the pagan traditions and it was fixed on the very day that they celebrate the pagan feast... Well if it's about proof, the evidence would contain more than two days of reading so let's pause here and hear from my fellow hivians ✌️😇✌️
