Automotive mechanics is a fine and practical trade skill. My younger son is an apprentice auto mechanic and he always offers to tune my car up, check the wipers and rotate the tires for me so I don't have to spend the cash for maintenance. I remember learning to change the oil and oil filter, the air filter, properly assess the radiator fluid, and topping it up if needed.
Fixing cars can get expensive easily, learning how your car works is a great ideal @purrix
