I've prepared for a significant Earthquake should it occur in my city but I wonder how mentally ready? I have decades of Nursing and medical nursing experience so I plan to report to my local hospital as a volunteer assuming I have my immediate family's needs taken care of. Could I take upon myself the emotional trauma of such an event? I hope I can keep my head straight and focus on the needs of those under my care. I expect the local hospitals to be overwhelm and in need of help, even from a worn out retired nurse.
