The water begins to flow in the pipe when the volume of the lake is about 2 million cubic meters of water. The pipe is in the form of a cone: the inlet diameter is 21.6 m, tapering down to 8.4 meters. The depth of the crater is 21 meters. One second drain skips through more than 1370 cubic meters of water. For obvious reasons, swimming near the "hole of fame" is prohibited. At some distance from hydroslide across the entire width of the lake are special buoys restricting access for boaters and swimmers to the dangerous area. In addition, the "glory hole" is securely fenced off from the shore, near which it is located. During the dry summer months when the water level in the lake and Berryessa significantly below the entrance hole the "hole of fame", some skateboarders, skaters and bicyclists use the other horizontal output hydroslide as a pipe for their workouts.
