When I heard about this movie, I thought it would be a Fantastic story in which a person would learn the hard way that wishing for certain things only brings trouble, but it turned out to be very different from what I imagined and although this is not the style at all One of the movies I usually watch, this unexpected story caught my attention and I watched it from start to finish, without falling asleep, this means a lot because he came home exhausted from work and I hardly ever take it too long.
George Miller directed this fantastic film, starring Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba, quite good actors who added their touch to the story. It's basically a pretty smart woman, an academic with PhDs and more, she goes on trips to Istanbul, but without first finding a nice souvenir of the place to take home, attracted by the beauty of a small glass bottle, she decides to buy it. and take it with him, but to appreciate its beauty more, he decides to clean it and rubs it in doing so.

From this small action something extremely unexpected happens for her, a huge genius or Djinn, when she sees that big being she is filled with fear and after several minutes of uncertainty, he offers her what she expected, three wishes that no matter what they were, would be fulfilled. In truth, Alithea Binnie (Tilda Swinton) who cannot trust the genie, flatly refuses to make a wish, claiming that she already has everything and that she is smart enough not to fall into the traps of a genie.
For his part, the djinn does not give up and trying to convince her, he begins to tell her the story of his life throughout the thousands of years he had, these stories a little strange but that somehow lead you to transport yourself in time and different times. In all of them, the djinn is hurt by a lack of love or by being locked up for too long, all these stories make Alithea understand something, who realizes that such a huge being carries deep feelings within himself, something very different to what was expected.

This story was a bit confusing for me, but it continued to be so interesting and attractive that I couldn't stop watching it, until I finally understood it, as I already said, it's not what I normally see, but this picula has a lot of truth inside it, yes, the human being wrapped in endless loneliness, always looking for company, but not just any company, even the toughest-looking person, wants to feel loved and in turn give their love to someone else from the depths of themselves, it sounds corny but it does not stop be true.
From the beginning of humanity until now, we have been victims of our own feelings and emotions, which make us go through life wanting to love but being too scared to do so, this movie makes this very clear and does it in a very beautiful way. Visually speaking and with the narration of interesting stories that make you want to stay until the end, it is a good film that we can enjoy if we see it without prejudice.
A great job George Miller did again, this great story of fiction and sentimentality is worth looking at with an open mind.
