Ode to the Bird
A Sonnet
by justadoge
My funny bird, you inspire me to write.
I hate the way you trot, wallow and bark,
Invading my mind day and through the night,
Always dreaming about the basking shark.
Let me compare you to a secret fly?
You are more giant, defiant and calm.
Plump drought dries the greenpicnics of July,
And summertime has the compliant brom.
How do I hate you? Let me count the ways.
I hate your sunny eyebrows, eyes and style.
Thinking of your pliant eyes fills my days.
My hate for you is the riant gentile.
Now I must away with an epic heart,
Remember my fun words whilst we're apart.
